Following a delay to the consented Lochluichart Wind Farm Extension II’s grid connection to 2024, Infinergy has been looking at all options to maximise power generation from the site. Wind turbine technology evolves continually and improved models are becoming available in the market. An assessment of potential turbine options has been made, resulting in a decision to propose higher-generating wind turbines for the site.
A further application to increase the tip height of the consented turbines from the consented 133m up to 150m will be submitted to the planning authority in due course. The first step in this process will be the scoping report, followed by consultation with the local community. Infinergy will be liaising with the Garve and District Community Council to assess how best to undertake this exercise at the appropriate time.
